ISACA Curacao Conference 2018

Mastering digital transformation “Building a robust future”

The business landscape as we know it is going through an extreme makeover as a result of rapid advances in technology. This digital transformation has resulted in stronger opportunities to transform and change existing business models, consumption patterns, socio-economic structures, legal and policy measures, organizational patterns and cultural barriers.

This year we aim to take our professional work force in Curaçao to the next level to embrace the new opportunities that lie ahead and control the challenges that come with these changes. It is very hard for enterprises to make the correct decisions when applying new technologies. We will bring international experts to educate on the latest developments, how to implement using an agile approach and also how to defend against cyber exploits.

The goal of the conference is to:

  • Educate on the latest technologies;
  • Promote an agile approach to successfully implement changes;
  • Promote the use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for managing information security; and
  • Expand network and business contacts.

We are very grateful to our sponsors  Arcas Partners, BearingPoint, IBM, Ictual, NetPro/Inova, 2Share, SOAB, Maduro & Curiel’s Bank, the Central bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten and ISACA International who enabled us to bring speakers from the United States, Canada, Italy, Aruba, Curacao and the Netherlands.

This year is going to be very special. Our foreign speakers on the first day cannot wait to visit our island and elaborate on their field of expertise. The second day we will have one business case that is going to be looked at from various roles. All presenters will talk about the same business case:

The whole sale and retailer Krio-Trade has noticed that the economy in Curacao has slowed down. There is a lot of competition in the market and Krio-trade notices that another retailer is experimenting with new business concepts. Krio-Trade feels that if they do not act they will miss the boat. Krio-Trade has to make steps. They want to work more efficient and innovative. Krio-Trade wants to give their clients better service and increase revenue.

The current IT environment has distributed applications on a local server. Krio-Trade is using a financial, salary and an inventory and procurement system. Krio-Trade uses Excel to combine all the data from the various systems. Krio-Trade also has a facebook page. KRIO-Trade has various issues with the current setup and whishes for the future.

The presenters on the second day will come up with viable solutions and control aspects to make the digital transformation for Krio-Trade. You will see live systems!
